1 c. yellow corn meal
1 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 c. sugar
4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 eggs, separated
1 c. milk
1/4 c. melted butter

Directions:
Directions:
Sift the dry ingredients; add egg yolks, milk and butter. Combine just until smooth. Beat egg whites until still and fold into mixture.
Bake in greased 8-inch square baking pan in preheated hot oven - 425º F for 20 to 25 minutes. (I often bake in heavy skillet.)

This recipe goes way back.... it was from Mrs. Peters (I think a relative of Grandma or Grandpa Franz who lived on a farm at Alma.)
