1/4 c butter
1 c brown sugar
1 egg
1 small bottle maraschino cherries
enough milk with cherry juice to make 1 c liquid
2 c sifted flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp almond extract
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 c slivered almonds

Directions:
Directions:
Cut cherries in half and add to batter. Cream butter, sugar, egg and almonds with flavorings. Add dry ingredients with milk and cherry juice. Mix well. Pour into greased and floured loaf pan. Bake 1 hour and 10 min in 350ºF oven.
