Dough ingredients:
3 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1 tbs sugar
1/2 lb butter
2 egg yolks
5 tbs milk

Apple Filling:
3 lbs. apples (sliced thin)
4 tbs. flour
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup walnuts. (Chopped fine)
A few shakes of cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Make dough as for pie crust ...Mix flour salt butter and sugar. Then mix egg yolks and milk separately. Combine liquid mixture into flour mixture to form a dough. Then chill for 1 hour.

Roll out 1/2 the dough to fit a 9 x 13 inch pan. Fill with apple mixture and press down flat.
Roll out other half of dough into a rectangle. Cut strips from dough for top of apple mixture and lay on top in a cross cross pattern. Brush strips with a little egg white . Sprinkle with chopped nuts sweetened with a little cinnamon sugar.

Bake 1 hour at 400º
