2 cups milk, scalded
1 pkg. activated dry yeast
3 Tbsp. sugar
3 cups flour
3 cups whole wheat flour
4 Tbsp. shortening
1/2 Tbsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm milk and add shortening, salt and flour. Let rise for 2 hours, press down, let raise 45 minutes. Mold into loaves and let raise for 45 minutes. Bake at 400º for 15 minutes. Lower temperature to 300º for another 45 minutes. Makes 2 loaves.
