Ingredients:
Ingredients:
(from Robert Louis Morrow per family candy store)

4lbs. Sugar
2lbs. White Karo Syrup

2-3lbs. Raw Peanuts
2tsp.Baking Soda

Hot water

Directions:
Directions:
In large pan put sugar & White Karo syrup-rinse bottle of syrup out with
hot water, about half full and add to pan. Cook until 260º on candy thermometer-
stirring at first, until sugar dissolves. When thermometer reaches 260º
add raw peanuts then cook to 290º stirring occasionally. Then
add baking soda (have it ready) stir quickly making sure it dissolved.

Pour thinly into buttered pans (I use about 14 aluminum pie pans).
It takes two people to pour-1 to hold pan while other pulls out with
wooden spoon-have to work quickly. Cool then break up with butter
knife handle.
*Uncle Bob would set pans outside to cool quicker.*
He also would get raw coconut to put in instead of peanuts.

Personal Notes:
Uncle Bob and Pat Batesel Self made this every Christmas. Now Pat's son, Tucker Self, makes it with her.
