Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 cups dried lima beans, soaked
1/4 lb. salt pork, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
1 small onion, chopped
1 garlic clove, chopped
1/4 cup fat (oil, butter or bacon fat)
1 1/2 tbsp. yellow mustard
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. chili powder
1 can Campbell's Condensed Tomato Soup
1/3 cup vinegar
1/4 lb. salt pork, sliced

Directions:
Directions:
Soak lima beans in water overnight. Drain. In a large pan, add enough water to cover the beans and the chopped salt pork. Cook slowly until tender. Drain, but reserve 1 1/2 cups of the liquid. Brown the onion and garlic in the fat. Add the remaining ingredients, including the 1 1/2 cups of reserved liquid. Cook 5 minutes. In a greased casserole, alternate the lima beans and the sauce. Top with the sliced salt pork. Bake in a preheated 400º oven for 30 minutes.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
This old recipe was published right after Campbell Soups introduced their condensed tomato soup. It was used as a marketing tool to encourage people to use their soups in other ways than just a bowl of convenient soup. It is really delicious; not sweet like a lot of barbecue bean recipes.
