2-4 very ripe bananas, peeled
2 cup flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 egg
1/4 tsp. salt
3 TBSP. buttermilk or sour milk
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350º and butter a 4x8 inch loaf pan.
2. In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until completely smooth.
3. Stir the milk into bananas.
4. Stir in beaten egg.
5. Mix in the baking powder and baking soda and salt and flour.
6. Pour the batter into prepared loaf pan.
7. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a tester inserted in center comes out clean.
8. Remove from oven and cool completely on a rack. Remove the bread from pan.

*** For sour milk you can use the 3 TBSP of fresh milk and add a half tsp. of lemon juice or vinegar.

It is best to use a bread knife to slice the bread.
