3 cups water
1 can beer
1 corned beef brisket with spice packet (I only use 1/2 a packet)
1 medium head cabbage, cut into 8 wedges
2 large red potatoes, cut into 2-inch chunks or small bag mini potatoes
chicken broth
4 large carrots, cut into 2-inch chunks
1 medium onion, cut into 2-inch pieces

I always soak any preserved meat to remove any excess salt. Drain
In a large pot, combine beer, broth and contents of corned beef seasoning packet;(I only use 1/2 a package) add beef. Bring to boil then reduce heat to simmer. I cook this for 4-6 hours. I put the cabbage in with the meat after about 1 1/2 hours potatoes after 2-3 , and carrots and onion during the last 1-2 hours. Remove meat & let it rest before slicing it cross grain. Dish and eat!
