Bacon
leaf lettuce
1/4 - 1/3 c. mayonnaise
1 Tbs. vinegar (adjust to taste)
Salt
Pepper
2 Tbs. bacon grease
2 hard boiled eggs sliced
green onions (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Wash and dry lettuce and place in a large salad bowl. Fry bacon and remove from skillet and cool then crumble. Leave grease in pan. In a small bowl mix mayonnaise and vinegar together, add pour over lettuce. Adjust mayo to taste. Sprinkle salt and pepper over lettuce. Heat oil in skillet and drizzle over lettuce to wilt. Toss and garnish with eggs, bacon and onions, serve immediately.

I would go with my Maw Maw Lena and pick fresh leaf lettuce at Mr. Fred B's house off 4-H Club Road to make this salad. I thought that is was so much fun, pouring the hot oil over it and watching the lettuce shrivel. We would make this a meal in itself.
