Batter:
1 c. sugar
1 Tbsp. butter, soft
1 egg
1 c. milk
2 c. all-purpose flour, sifted
2 tsp. baking powder

Top (which becomes the bottom):
2 c. fruit or berries
2 c. boiling water
1 c. sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Mix the batter like you would for cake. Pour batter into a greased 9-inch x 13-inch pan.
Mix the top and pour over batter.
Bake at 350º F for 35 to 40 minutes.
