2 lbs filet mignon cut in cubes or Angus rib eye from Trader Joes
2 tbsp chopped garlic
1 tsp sugar
2 pinches salt - Hawaiian rock salt
pepper

Vinaigrette Sauce:
1/2 c. rice vinegar- Has to be rice vinegar
1 tbsp sugar
1/4 c. balsamic vinegar or rice wine - you can get this at Asian market
3 tbsp soy sauce - Yamasa - Not Kikoman
1 tbsp fish sauce - Patis From Asian market store in fridge till end of time

3 green onions cut in 1 in. lengths
1 small white Sweet Maui onion
8 tbsp butter
1 package of mixed green lettuce
lime
cilantro


Directions:
Directions:
In nonmetal bowl, mix meat with garlic and sugar, salt and pepper, and 2 tbsp oil. Cover and keep in fridge at least 2 hrs.

Prepare vinaigrette.

Place heat high, brown onions and meat. When smoking add sauce. Add butter and shake. Pour over lettuce serve with limes and cilantro over white rice.

This is SF Slanted Door recipe. So good you will be making it often. You can make it with shrimp or scallops if you don't eat meat. I think tofu would even work.
