1-1 1/2 lb. ground beef
2 medium onions, diced
1 medium cabbage, coarsely sliced
4 medium carrots, thinly sliced into 2" pieces
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1-1/2 cup rice
3 cups of water with 2 tsp. beef bouillon mixed in
(or the equivalent in beef broth and water

Brown the ground beef and onions. Add salt and pepper. Add carrots to beef mixture and continue to cook for a few minutes. Add rice to ground beef mixture and brown for 3 minutes, stirring continuously. Mix cabbage, salt, and pepper and place on top of the beef-rice mixture. Do not mix the cabbage into the meat mixture. Pour water/broth mixed together over the cabbage.

Bake in a pot with a lid at 350º for 45min - 1 hour or until the water is well absorbed by the rice.

Serve with hot sauce.

Cook in a cast iron pot or similar pot with a lid.
Add appropriate liquid depending on how much rice you use. If you want more, add 2 cups rice/4 cups liquid and if you want less add 1 cup rice/2 cups liquid. (Add slightly less water if the cabbage is very moist from washing it.)
Can be cooked on the stove top but the taste will be altered.
