For the Cake:
1 Box Duncan Hines German Cake Mix (add 1 extra egg and substitute milk for water)

For the Icing:
1 C (2 sticks) Butter
2 C Sugar - (or 1 C Granulated Sugar and 1 C Brown Sugar)
6 Egg Yolks
2 C Evaporated Milk
2 tsp Vanilla Extract
2 C Baker's Coconut
1 1/2 C Pecans, chopped and lightly toasted

Cake:
1. Preheat oven to 325º
2. Prepare pans - grease and flour or use baking spray
3. Prepare cake mix according to package directions EXCEPT, use milk instead of water and add one additional egg
4. Remove cake from oven when done

Icing:
1. Place butter, sugar, milk and egg yolks in large heavy bottomed saucepan over medium heat
2. Stir constantly until thickened - just until boiling
3. Remove from heat and stir in coconut, pecans and vanilla
4. When icing has cooled spread on cooled cake layers.
