1 cup (2 sticks) butter (do NOT use margarine)
4 TB powdered sugar
1 TB water
2 tsp vanilla
2 cups flour, sifted
2 cups chopped pecans
powdered sugar (for rolling baked cookies in)

Directions:
Directions:
1) Cream the butter and powdered sugar.
2) Slowly add in the sifted flour. (Sift first, then measure out the 2 cups)
3) Add the water, vanilla and pecans.
4) Roll about 2 tsp. batter between hands into the shape of a date.
5) Bake for 1 hour at 250 degrees.
6) After baking (while still hot), roll in powdered sugar.
