Directions:
Cream shortening and margarine. Add sugars. Continue to beat until creamy. Add eggs and vanilla and beat again. Mix in baking soda and 4 cups flour. Continue to add 1/2 cup of flour at a time until dough is very stiff but not dry. Add 1 bag of chocolate chips or M&Ms.

Preheat oven to 375. Roll small balls of dough and place on parchment lined baking sheets. Bake 10-12 minutes.

These cookies are chewy rather than crisp.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
You can substitute peanut butter for shortening. Use less flour since peanut butter makes a thicker dough. Greg likes this made with peanut butter dough and peanut butter m&ms.
