2 10-ounce, long French or Italian bread loaves, cut into 1-inch thick slices
8 large eggs
3 cups milk
4 tablespoons sugar
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon vanilla
2 tablespoon butter, cut into pieces
Additional butter for pan

Directions:
Directions:
1. Grease 9x13" pan with butter and line pan with bread slices.
2. Mix all ingredients. Pour mixture over bread.
3. Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight (optional).
4. Dot bread with butter pieces before cooking. Put pan in oven and turn to 350º. Bake 45-50 minutes.
