1 cup vegetable shortening two eggs 1 1/2 cup sugar 1 teaspoon cocoa powder 2 ounces red food coloring in 2 1/2 cups flour 1 teaspoon salt 1 cup buttermilk 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon vinegar

In mixing bowl cream shortening eggs and sugar in a separate bowl mix Coco food coloring combine all together flour salt and butter milk fold in remaining three ingredients pour batter into two greased 9 inch cake pan and bake 30 minutes on 350°
