Notes: They made these flapjacks at Vange Primary School & Nursery, where I taught 6-8 year olds (Year Groups 2 & 3) in Essex, England. I loved getting one for snack nearly every day. The kitchen ladies thought it was hilarious that I would buy one for snack and one for dessert with my lunch or dinner. When I left, the head cook presented me with a copy of the recipe. British Flapjacks are a cookie vaguely resembling Rice Krispie Treats in technique and granola bars in results. So delicious!!
Golden syrup is a *very* British thing. It is available in the International section of many grocery stores, and stores similar to Cost Plus World Market.
