1 c. seedless raisins
1 c. water
1/2 c. salad oil
1 c. sugar
1 egg (slightly beaten)
1 3/4 c. flour (sifted)
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cloves
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp all spice
1/2-1 c. chopped walnuts

Icing:
2 c. powdered sugar sifted
1/4 c. softened butter
2 TBSP cream
1 TBSP vanilla or lemon juice

Directions:
Directions:
Combine raisins and water. Bring to boiling point, then remove from heat. Add salad oil, let cool to luke warm. Stir in sugar and egg. Sift dry ingredients. Add to raisin mixture and beat. Stir in nuts. Pour into greased 13 x 9 inch pan or thinner.

Bake 375º for 20 min, or if using bigger pan, for 12 minutes.

Blend icing ingredients until smooth.

Frost with icing when bars are cool.
