Spaghetti Sauce:
5 large tins tomato juice
2 large tins crushed Italian tomatoes
2 large tins tomato paste
1/2 tsp. oregano
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
1 green pepper, chopped
6 large onions, chopped
1 tsp. crushed chilies
1/2 tsp. basil

Meatballs:
2 lb. lean ground beef
1 lb. ground pork
1/2 green pepper, chopped
2 eggs
2 small onions, chopped
milk (approximately 1/2 c.)
1 c. bread crumbs

Spaghetti Sauce:
1. Grind onions & green pepper in blender
2. Spray large pan with cooking oil on bottom
3. Add all ingredients
4. Bring to a boil & reduce heat
5. Simmer for 4 hours to thicken

Meatballs:
1. Grind onions & green pepper in blender
2. Mix all ingredients in large bowl
3. Mix well to form meatballs
4. Add to sauce and simmer about 1 hour

Note. You can freeze the spaghetti sauce in small containers and meatballs separately.

The spaghetti sauce recipe came from Great Grandma Burgess. The meatballs came from Great Grandma Campbell. This makes a lot of sauce, but recipe can be cut in half if desired.
