Cream together shortening and sugar until light and fluffy and egg and vanilla and Blendwell sift together flour soda and salt stare into creamed mixture take out two thirds of Joe and color red or green with food coloring mall Distefano into a one and 0.5 x 10" roll then squeeze tab have together leaving lower half flowered and curvy like a bell chill save 1/4 cup of remaining down for clappers on wax paper roll at remaining down into 10 x 14" rectangular large enough to cover color down trim edges rabbits around color down chill Fairlane sliced into 1/8 inch slices place on ungreased baking sheet press tiny balls at bell for the clapper
Bake 8 to 10 minutes at 400°
