1 cup butter or half butter and half shortening
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
3/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
2 cup flour

Directions:
Directions:
Mix butter sugar and vanilla together. Blend well. Add chopped nuts. Add flour little at a time. Roll into balls or into little logs. Bake at 425° until light brown 8 to 10 minutes. After cooled roll in powdered sugar.

Mom gave me this recipe when I first moved out of the house and I have made it for Christmas almost every year. It is a big hit in our house and also when I bring it to different events.
