10 C apples, peeled & cored
10 C prunes, pitted
5 large onions
6 C vinegar
3 tsp ginger
2 tsp nutmeg
2 tsp allspice
2 tsp cayenne
2 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp cloves
2 tsp pepper
1 tsp mace
1/2 c salt
51/2 c sugar

Directions:

Mix all together. I cut up and blend the apples and prunes in a food processor. Simmer on the stove for 6 hours. I stir every 10-15 minutes to make sure it doesn't burn. Put in hot sterilized jars.

This recipe came to me from a co-worker. It is her mom's recipe and is way better than the HP sauce you buy. It is absolutely delicious and worth the effort.
