Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 Tbsp. salt
1 cup vinegar
1 Tbsp. pickling spices
2 cups sugar
7 cups sliced, unpeeled cucumbers
1 cup sliced onions
1 cup green peppers (I didn't use them)

Directions:
Directions:
In bowl, mix together (cold) salt, vinegar, pickling spices and sugar until sugar is dissolved. Then add cucumbers, onions and peppers. Put in refrigerator. Stir every now and then for first several hours.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
VARIATION according to Grandma/Aunt Phyllis Farrell, which is how I made mine. Don't mix the first part cold, heat over stove until sugar is dissolved and mixture is hot. Then add cukes and onions. Leave on counter for an hour or so to cool. Then put in fridge. The pickles kinda "cook and shrink" I guess you could say. I made my last batch the other way and everyone seems to prefer Grandma's way better.
