2½ cup sifted flour
1 tsp. salt
1 cup shortening
1 egg divided (yolk)
2/3 cup milk when combined with yolk
8-10 apples sliced to make 1¾ cups
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
pinch of salt
powder sugar for frosting
milk for frosting

Directions:
Directions:
Combine flour, salt, cut into shortening. Beat egg yolk into a measuring cup. Add milk to make 2/3 cup liquid mix well. Stir into flour mixture.
On floured board roll out half of dough to fit 15x10 pan, put crust up on sides of pan. Mix 1 cup sugar, 1 tsp. cinnamon with apples, put in pan. Be sure and stick the crust with a fork to avoid bubbles. Top with remaining dough. Cut slits in top of crust for it to breathe. Beat egg whites & put on top crust.
Bake 375º for 50 minutes, drizzle with frosting, powdered sugar & milk frosting.
