1 cup sugar
1 cup shortening (scant)
add 2 eggs beaten
5 T water from raisins
2 cups of flour (almost all of it)
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 cups oatmeal
1 cup raisins-boil for 5 minutes

Directions:
Directions:
Take your raisins & boil them together in water to cover raisins for about 5 minutes to soften them up.
Mix all other ingredients together!

Bake at 375º for about 10 minutes

This recipe is Mark's mom (Erna), she made these all the time. After Mom's passing in 2012 we all wanted to check out her recipes and get copies of those that had her hand writing on & ones that she had notes on that she would make all the time. This is one of those! Love the traditions & the memories!
