Potato Soup Recipe

3 cups chopped onions
4 cups diced baked potatoes with skins
1 16oz sour cream
1 qt half/half
1 gallon milk
2 pkgs bacon bits or cut up bacon
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
green onions to garnish
cheddar cheese to garnish

Saute onions in butter till cooked
add potatoes and cover milk,half/half and sour cream
CONSTANTLY stir do not boil or it will burn
use folk or masher to break up potatoes
sprinkle with bacon and garnishes
to thicken soup add cornstarch and water mixture to heated soup
