1/4 to 1/3 cup raisins
1/3 cup inexpensive white wine (preferably sweet)
3/4 cup almonds
2 eggs
2/3 cup sugar
3/4 cup milk
3/4 cup heavy cream
3/4 cup white bread,crust removed, cut into cubes
1- 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Soak raisins for about 30 minutes in wine. If raisins are dry, warm mixture slightly. Strain away wine.

Scald, peel, dry, and grind almonds.

Beat eggs and sugar together until white and light. Add milk, cream, and remaining ingredients. Blend well. Pour into greased round dish or into individual dishes. Stir with fork so raisins do nor sink to the bottom . Bake in pan of water in a 350°F oven for about 25 minutes, or until pudding has become firm and has a golden brown crust on top.
Serve hot or warm with chilled whipped cream, grated orange peel, and a dash of orange liqueur.
