Ingredients:
Ingredients:
Filling:
5 large apples
1 tbsp. lemon juice
2 tbsp. flour
3/4 c. sugar
Cinnamon to taste
Prepared crust for pie - unbaked

Topping:
1 c. sifted flour
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. softened butter, no substitutes

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all filling ingredients together. Place pie crust in bottom 9 inch pie pan. I like to use deep dish pie pans. Add apple mixture.
In a medium bowl, combine sugar and flour. Cut in butter with a fork until mixture becomes crumbly.
Sprinkle crumble over apples in crust.
Bake at 350º for 40 to 50 minutes or until crumble is browning and apples are bubbling. It may take up to an hour to cook. Watch pie so doesn't burn.

You can freeze ingredients but will need to add more flour as freezing creates more liquid to mixture. I freeze filling in gallon size freezer bags.
You can make a LOT of filling and freeze ahead of time. Make sure to add enough flour and cinnamon to coat apples when freezing.

Personal Notes:
Rampton family favorite! We prefer this to a double crust pie.
