2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
½ cup butter (1 stick), softened
½ cup shortening
½ cup sugar
¾ cup packed brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 egg
12 oz Chocolate chunks or chips
½ Cup chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375
In a small bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt; set aside
In a large bowl combine butter, shortening, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla; beat until creamy; beat in egg
Gradually add flour mixture and mix well
Drop rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet, 2" apart
Bake 8-10 minutes
Cool on cookie sheet 2 minutes
Remove to rack and cool completely
