8 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 cup confectioners' sugar
1 egg, well beaten
4 tablespoons Amaretto liqueur

Directions:
In top of double boiler over simmering water, stir butter and sugar until melted and dissolved and very hot. Remove from heat. Whisk egg into mixture, whisk until room temperature. Add Amaretto.

We had dinner with Aunt Pitsy and Uncle Jim at the Irish Rover and ordered bread pudding for dessert. It wasn’t very good and Jim mentioned that Pitsy made a wonderful sauce using Amaretto. This isn’t her recipe, I found it on-line and is probably a good substitute. We did get to try her recipe at a dinner party in 2012, it was amazing! 01/22/11.
