3/4 cup butter softened
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
3 cups all purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups sour cream

Filling
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts
1 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Grease and flour a tube or bundt pan. Combine butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla in a large mixing bowl. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes. Mix in flour, baking powder, soda, and salt. Then add sour cream. Stir the filling ingredients together for a crumby-like mixture. Spread 1/3 of the batter in the pan and then sprinkle with 1/3 of the filling. Repeat two times (ending with filling). Bake at 350 degrees for 55 minutes.

This is my favorite Aunt Anne recipe, it’s just yummy. Christmas gift opening wouldn’t be the same without a thick slice of this cake. I didn’t attempt it until I got my big stand mixer, my favorite appliance. I’ve made it dozens of times for gifts – Susan and Tom get one every year now, too. 09/29/05

Getting ready to make this coffee cake as a thank you for a friend and I'm reminded that I received this cookbook as a gift from our next door neighbors when I graduated from high school. I've only made the two recipes on this page.....probably should just tear this page out let the book go, but there's something sentimental about keeping the whole cookbook. Feeling nostalgic
