"As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy, and to make plans."--Ernest Hemingway

Ingredients:
1/2 cup Bisquick
1/4 cup Half and Half
1 glug of Amaretto
1/2 cup chopped English walnuts (optional)
1 egg white (yolk can be added if desired, but not recommended)
1/3 tablespoon canola oil

Directions:
Directions:
Separate the egg and place the white in a small mixing bowl. Beat the white into a meringue. Add the Bisquick and half-and-half and the walnuts. Not recommended but the egg yolk can be added if desired. Add the canola oil and stir just enough to dissolve lumps and mix ingredients. Batter should drip slowly from a spoon and texture can be adjusted by adding Bisquick or half-and-half.

Beginning at the outer edges, pour one-half the batter into a preheated waffle iron and bake for six and one-half minutes. Remove promptly, coat lightly with butter, and drown in syrup.

Recipe will make two rectangle Memaw waffles and serve two people.
