4 c. unsifted all purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 c. butter (softened)
1 c. vegetable oil
1 c. confectioner's sugar
1 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Directions:
Directions:
1. In medium bowl, combine flour, salt, baking soda & cream of tartar.
2. In electric mixer, cream butter, oil, confectioners' sugar & granulated sugar until fluffy.
3. Add eggs & vanilla & mix again.
4. Add flour mixture & blend slowly.
5. Wrap in plastic wrap & refrigerate at least one hour.
6. Shape dough into 1 inch balls and roll in additional granulated sugar.
7. Place 2 inches apart on parchment lined baking sheets. Press each dough ball with a fork dipped in sugar to keep from sticking.
8. Bake at 350º fir 15-16 minutes until cookies are brown on the bottom and beginning to brown on the edges.
9. Cool thoroughly before storing
