1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
5 cups pecan halves
Salt to taste

Pour butter over pecans, stirring to coat well. Arrange pecans in a single layer on a baking sheet; sprinkle with salt. Bake at 275 degrees about 1 hours; stir occasionally. Yield 3 cups

I used to make these every Christmas and then eat most of them myself. The recipe came from Southern Living 1984. One year I made them for teachers’ gifts and Miss Rose responded they’d make a nice pie. I hope she realized they’d been salted.
