Notes: This recipe came from the Courier-Journal Kentucky Cookbook which I’ve had for many years (pre-marriage, I think). The book cites Doe Run Inn near Brandenburg as the originator – we’ve eaten there and I think they still serve them. My first experience making them was pretty funny, I’ve halved their recipe above and it makes about 6 dozen golf-ball size balls. The book says the doubled recipe only makes about 4 dozen which was clearly wrong. We were still eating country ham balls at Easter that year. This is another freezable item, just thaw and heat.
