¼ c. butter
1 c. Splenda brown sugar
1 (5 oz.) evaporated milk
1 tsp. real Watkins vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
In a medium, heavy saucepan, melt butter halfway and proceed to add evaporated milk and brown sugar.

Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Stir well and adjust heat to low so mixture boils gently.

Cook for 7-20 minutes, depending on how thick you would like the frosting. The longer it cooks, the thicker it will become.

Remove from heat, add vanilla, and beat warm icing with a wooden spoon until it thickens, about 2-5 minutes.

Quickly spread icing over square or two layer cake.

Personal Notes:
It’s not the sugary caramel that I love but it’s a decent substitute.
