3/4 cup butter flavored shortening
1 1/4 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
2 TBSP milk
1 TBSP vanilla (NOT tsp)
1 large egg
1 3/4 c. all purpose flour
1 tsp salt
3/4 tsp baking soda
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

**I usually double this recipe
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Beat the shortening and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add milk, vanilla, and egg. Stir in flour, salt and baking soda. Blend in choc chips and nuts. Bake for 10-12 minutes (ovens vary) and let sit on hot cookie sheet for 2-3 minutes before removing to a cooling rack.

My absolute FAVORITE choc. chip cookie recipe! Moist and chewy. Try not to substitute the butter flavored Crisco. That helps make the perfect consistency and flavor!
