Crust:
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup flour

Top Layer:
1 cup brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs, beaten
2 T flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 and 1/2 cup coconut, shredded
1 cup nuts, chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Combine shortening, salt, brown sugar, and flour. Spread mixture in bottom of 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake 15 minutes at 350 degrees.

Combine brown sugar an vanilla with the beaten eggs. Beat until thick and foamy. Add the flour, baking powder, salt, coconut, and nuts. Blend. Spread over baked crust and bake another 25 min.
