1 cup packed light brown sugar
1/3 cup salted butter, melted
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/8 tsp baking soda
1/3 cup bittersweet-chocolate chips
3/4 tsp flaky salt (Maldon Sea Salt, kosher or 1/4 tsp table salt

Preheat the oven to 350ºF and line an 8x8 in. baking pan with foil, extending the foil over the edges of the pan. Spray the foil with nonstick cooking spray.

In a large bowl stir together the sugar, butter, egg, and vanilla. Mix the flour, baking powder, and baking soda. Add the chocolate chips and stir to combine. Spread the batter into the prepared pan. Sprinkle the salt evenly over the batter. (Crumble the salt with your fingers if the flakes are too big).

Bake for 25 minutes, until lightly browned and a wooden toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Let cool in pan on a wire rack. Lift bars out using the foil as handles and cut into 24 pieces
