1 lb. ground beef
1 lb. Jimmy Dean's Original pork sausage
1 3/4 C ketchup
1 1/2 T. yellow mustard
1/3 C light brown sugar (packed)
3 cans Van Camps Pork & Beans (28 oz. each)
1 yellow onion chopped
1 green bell pepper chopped

Directions:
Brown ground beef and sausage. Drain excess fat. Add onion and bell pepper and saute until onion is translucent and meat is well browned. Add pork and beans and all other ingredients. Cook in large sauce pan on low for 30 min, stirring occasionally. Enjoy.

I got this recipe from a co-worker, JoAnne Tyrell, when I worked in the business office for Illinois Bell in Kankakee, IL., in 1970. (She also gave me the recipe for "Nutty Cups".) I took this dish to the car club Christmas party and they all loved it. In fact there was very little left to bring home much to Keith's dismay.
