1 Onion, diced (I prefer Vidalia or other sweet onion)
4 cloves of Garlic, minced (more or less to taste)
1 Large can diced or crushed Tomatoes
1 can tomato sauce
1 Tbsp Oregano
1 1/2 Tbsp Basil
1 Bay Leaf
1 Tbsp Brown Sugar
Salt & Pepper to taste

1. Saute onion and garlic until translucent
2. Add other ingredients and allow to simmer on low heat for about 30 minutes.

Other optional ingredients include: mushrooms, bell pepper and other herbs

Note: Fresh herbs are always best if you have them

Keep adding and adjusting seasonings until you make this sauce your very own personal version. Make a large batch and freeze for quick and convenient use later.
