In 1/2 cup of lukewarm water put 1 tsp. sugar, 2 envelopes of yeast and let rise in a warm place. In a large bowl put
1/2 cup of sugar,
1/2 cup shortening,
1 tsp. salt,
2 T of vinegar
3.5 cups of lukewarm water.
Add risen yeast and 9 to 10 cup flour, just enough so the doegh does not stick to
hands.

Cover dough with cloth and let rise for 2 hrs. Knead down and let rise for 1 hr. Knead down and form into balls size of crabapples. Cover with cloth & let rise for 3 hrs. Bake in 350 to 375 degree oven.
