Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs of Ground Beef
1/2 cup of dry or fresh breadcrumbs
1 egg (optional)
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 or a few grinds of black pepper
1/4 cup of ketchup
1-3 teaspoons of worchestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard powder or regular mustard
1 package of onion gravy mix or a 10 1/2 oz can of Campbells condensed French onion soup

Directions:
Directions:
1) In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, bread crumbs, (egg, if using), salt and black pepper, ketchup, mustard and Worchestershire sauce. Do not over mix or it will get gluey.

2) Shape into 6 oval patties.

3) In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown both sides of patties.

4) Pour off excess fat.

In a pyrex measuring cup, blend gravy mix with cold water according to package. If using canned condensed soup, mix that with a tablespoon of flour until smooth and add to pan. Taste the sauce and add more water if it is too salty.

6) Pour over meat in skillet and stir between the patties until sauce starts to thicken.

7) Cover, and simmer on low heat for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

I like this with rice. Start the rice first so it is ready by the time the "steaks" are done. Don't forget a veggie! you cook that while the meat is simmering.
