3 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/3 c, Karo syrup
7/8 c. butter
1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 oz.)
2 t. vanilla





Directions:
Directions:
Cook sugar, Karo, butter, and milk over low heat to soft ball stage or 250°. Stir constantly. Take off heat and add vanilla. Pour into 9X13 greased pan. Cool.


In addition to making caramels, I wrap it around two pecan halves then top with melted milk chocolate chips to make turtles.

I found this recipe many years ago when I was in college. I adapted it somewhat from the original recipe so I didn't have a little sweetened condensed milk left over. Now I can use the whole can, thus, no waste:)
