1 pound ground beef
3/4 cup soda cracker crumbs
1 egg
1 medium onion, chopped finely
1/4 cup milk
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 Tablespoon fat (lard)
1- 10 ounce can tomato soup
4 large potatoes, peeled and chopped into bite sized pieces
6 medium carrots, peeled & chopped into bite sized pieces
1 pint or can green (or yellow) beans or peas

Roll cracker crumbs fine, cut onions in small pieces. Add these to ground beef, egg, milk and salt. Mix well & make into small balls. Brown in fat.
If tomato soup is too thick, thin with water from the vegetables. The meat & tomato soup should be allowed to simmer together a bit in a large skillet.
Boil carrots for 5 minutes, then add prepared potatoes, cook until done. Add to the meat & soup mixture. Add beans (or peas) and heat all together..
