1 Yellow cake mix & ingredients to make cake
1 c milk
1 c sugar
1/2 c shortening
5 T flour
1/2 t salt
1 t vanilla
1/2 c butter
Directions:
Directions:
Make & bake cake mix according to package in 9 x 13 pan lined with wax or parchment paper. Cook flour & milk in saucepan, whisking until thickened. Cool. In another bowl with mixer, beat shortening, softened butter, salt & vanilla. Beat until fluffy. Beat together with COOL flour mixture. Remove cake from pan when cool. Carefully slice cake through the middle to make a top half and a bottom half like a layer cake. Spread all of the filling on bottom layer and carefully replace top layer. Cover cake and let set for several hours so the sugar is dissolved. Enjoy!
