2 cups all-purpose flour
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
Dash salt
1 Tbsp granulated sugar
1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup buttermilk
1 Tbsp melted butter

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 400°F. Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and sugar in a mixing bowl. Cut in butter with a fork until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add buttermilk. Mix quickly to make a soft dough. Turn out onto lightly floured surface. Knead a few times to make a soft dough, don't over knead or the biscuits will turn hard and dry. Roll out to a 6 x 6 inch square. Place on ungreased baking sheet.
With a knife, cut dough into 12 even portions. DO NOT separate the portions. Brush top and sides with melted butter. Bake at 400°F until golden, about 15 minutes.

No need to cut biscuits, they will pull apart after cooking.

First time I ever made these was for grandma and Papa. They brought tears to Papa's eyes and then he told me it was because they reminded him of his mothers.
