Notes: Baked beans has been the traditional Sabbath meal in our family for generations. The flavoring in this particular version was inspired by Aunt Ruth's beans. She usually baked soy beans, but we like any kind of beans. The correct way to eat them is ladled over a slice of home made bread. (At least that's what we were taught.) Baked beans warm the heart with thoughts of family, and the beans are excellent for keeping your heart healthy.
