Apple Slump Recipe

6 apples - peeled, cored, sliced
1 1/4 C sugar
1/2 C water
1 t cinnamon
1 12 C flour
1 12 t baking powder
2 T butter
3/4 C milk

Directions:
Directions:
In large saucepan, combine apple slices, 1 cup of sugar, water and cinnamon.
Bring to a boil. Cover and simmer 5 minutes.
Cream butter and remaining 1/4 c sugar. Add flour, salt and baking powder.
Gradually, add milk.
Drop by spoonfuls into simmering apples.
Cover and simmer low for 20 - 25 minutes.
DO NOT LIFT THE LID until after 20 minutes.
